We are a full‐service commercial and residential electrical contractor with a full‐service mechanical contractor. Our company opened in 2011. We have been in the electrical field for over 10 years specializing in remodel, new construction, media, audio/video, generator backup and solar.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of working in renewable energy is that we get to meet a lot of great people along the way—whether those people are the curious, potential customers, community solar advocates or competitors. Those working in, or interested in, solar are a special breed who see the benefit of investing in a cleaner future. Though there are many good choices for a solar contractor in Seattle, we strive set ourselves apart, relying on years of experience, craftsmanship, creativity and professionalism.
Kevin and the guys at NW Electric were fantastic. Their prices were very fair and the work they did was excellent – both timely, well-informed, and aesthetic. After installation, both Kevin and I didn’t like the way one of the lights looked– they replaced the light at no labor charge to me. I would definitely recommend this crew for any electrical needs you may have- commercial or residential
I just had Derek and his team complete a job for me (installing can lights) and they were on time, did exactly what they said they would and came in under budget. You should stop looking for another electrician because you just found a keeper!
I contacted Derek after an earlier contractor sent a carpenter to do electrical work at my house (and failed). Derek came on day 1 just to take a look at the projects, but was able to handle one of them (proper installation of a bathroom fan) in just a couple of minutes, and made a plan with me for the second project to follow the next day. As he was leaving, he kindly told me about a special he was running on Living Social, which made the projects less than they would have been otherwise. The following day, Steven arrived on time, and fixed the second project (re-installation of a bedroom ceiling fan) in less than an hour. Derek and Steven are now on my go-to list for electrical help. Many thanks and much admiration for your professionalism, courtesy, timeliness, and good work getting the job done!
My experience with NW Electric & Solar (NWE&S) and the entire Solarize Bellevue program was very good. The staff at NWE&S were all very easy to work with from the original bid process and proposal to the completion of the installations. My project included a panel upgrade and a solar array and both aspects of the project turned out great. The installation and upgrade were completed mostly in one day with some follow up on a second day. I like to be involved in all aspects of a project because I was a contractor for many years. Everyone at NWE&S were happy to talk to me and were quick to address my concerns throughout the project (and there were many). The one issue that I did have during installation involved moving the electrical meter towards the front of the house which meant a lot of conduit on the outside of my house. I was afraid that the conduit would not look very good. The installation crew did a very professional job installing the conduit and because the conduit was tucked up tight to the eve and returned low along the bottom of the siding, the job looks good, much better than I thought it would. One thing that I really like is NWE&S divided up the responsibilities for the different parts of the project to specialist for each part. For my project that meant one person for sales, one person for project management, a crew for the solar array installation and a crew for the electrical work. Each person or crew was really good at what they specialized in. I am looking forward to some long sunny days as we get into summer so I can watch the power production from the panels go up and start getting a good return.
I participated in the 2014 Solarize Bellevue project and am very pleased with the concept and organization of the project as well as with the staff at Northwest Electric & Solar who installed the hardware. Solar power has always interested me and prior to moving to Bellevue 2 years ago I lived farther south in Washington where I had effective solar water heating for 30 years. Solarize Bellevue sent out informational mailers to the community at the time I was starting to inquire about availability of solar systems in this area, so they only needed to convince me this was the right product, the right installer and the right time to install it. I attended a well prepared presentation from Solarize Bellevue, Puget Sound Energy and Northwest Electric & Solar then spoke with individual staff from the installer, Northwest Electric & Solar. In the group presentation and again individually, I was educated about a number of options with discussion of which would best meet my situation (I live in a townhouse complex). My solar panels were installed on my schedule in January 2016 with immediate electricity production which increases as we move into summer. I am pleased to have been a participant in the Solarize Bellevue project and am very pleased with the ability to contribute to solar energy production.
Northwest Electric & Solar was punctual, professional, and true to their cost estimate. Even with a few changes that cost them more money, they did not increase my cost. They coordinated the necessary roof work and managed to do it all within the schedule on which we had agreed. It was overall a very good experience and my solar panels have been functioning flawlessly ever since.
My experience with Northwest Electric & Solar was excellent. The solar panel installation process went smoothly and in the timeframe promised, with no surprises, and so far the projected production estimated by Northwest Electric & Solar is on target. After installation my support specialist has been very responsive to any questions I have had. Northwest Electric & Solar was a great team to work with. Also, in case you are curious, I setup a page that shows my daily production for friends and family who were curious – I automated the loading of the production data into my webpage (though I think only software developers would be able to figure out how to do it..): http://dano.vfsystems.net/the-pacific-northwest-solar-experiment/
We had been considering solar power for a long time but it seemed too complicated. The Solarize Bellevue program with its pre-qualified installer and streamlined permitting process really made the decision easy! The people at Northwest Electric and Solar are great to work with, and our home solar power system installed last fall (2014) is exceeding our high expectations. With all of the currently available incentives, we expect to break even in less than six years. It’s wonderful and amazing… we get electricity from the sky!
The folks behind this program are smart, fun, hard-working people, and probably the best decision I made last year was to become a volunteer for Solarize Bellevue. Bret Turner at Northwest Electric and Solar really knows his stuff, and provided detailed answers to my questions as they came up. Ian Robinson ably assisted him during the campaign, and the three installers who came out to my house to do the real work of getting my panels up and running clearly loved their work.
Everyone I spoke to was very knowledgeable, the work was done quickly (once the panels were delivered) and everything went better than expected. They even coordinated with the roofing company to get the job done – making it less work for me! I recommend Northwest Electric & Solar to anyone who asks about our panels.
